What does our student government do? What are the new administration’s plans for the upcoming academic year? How will their efforts affect students?
On this week’s episode of The Byline, a joint project between The Phoenix and WLUW 88.7, host and engagement editor Audrey Hogan is joined by deputy news editor Julia Pentasuglio and Ava Witherite to discuss these questions and more.

  • Audrey Hogan is a third-year student from Morgan Hill, California studying Communications and Political Science. This is her third-year as a writer and second-year on staff as Engagement Editor. She's written about the perils of academic pedigree, table tennis and Peter Gabriel, too. In her free time, she likes to read and walk.

  • Ava Witherite is the deputy news editor of the paper and is a third-year multimedia journalism major with a minor in marketing. She joined The Phoenix at the start of her sophomore year and has enjoyed newswriting ever since. Some of her interests beyond writing are finding new music, going the gym and playing The New York Times games.

  • Julia Pentasuglio is The Phoenix’s editor-in-chief. She is a fourth-year majoring in multimedia journalism and political science with a minor in environmental communication. Outside of Loyola, Julia has written for The Spokesman-Review in Spokane, Wash. and the Akron Beacon Journal in Akron, Ohio as an intern reporter. She has also worked on the Digital Media team at North Coast Media, a business-to-business magazine company based in Cleveland, Ohio. Julia enjoys writing about energy and  environmental issues, parks and recreation and local politics. Outside of her love for news and investigative storytelling, Julia enjoys camping, biking, skiing and anything she can do outside. Got a story recommendation?
