The journey for a fourth straight Atlantic 10 Championship began for Loyola Women’s cross country Aug. 29  in Chicago at the North Park/CUC Invitational in Schiller Woods.

Loyola Women’s Cross Country began its 2025 campaign with a dominant win, as four of its five runners tied for first place at the North Park/CUC Invitational.

Only six of the Rambler’s 19 runners are returners, making an obstacle for another A10 title.

The team’s turnover wasn’t an issue for the Ramblers at the invitational as Loyola swept the top four spots in the 5K — crossing the finish line together. Third-year Jo Collins led the way, along with three newcomers in second-year Lindsey Kiehl and first-years Mackenzie Armstrong and Frances Perry.

Kiehl and Armstrong tied for first in the event with times of 19:21.4. Collins and Perry were a split second behind them at 19:21.5. The next closest runner was Aurora College fourth-year N’Dya Fields over 30 seconds later, clocking in at 19:53.7.

Loyola’s final runner was first-year Scarlett Moriarty in 16th with a time of 20:37.5.

The Ramblers don’t run again until both the men’s and women’s teams take the course at the Notre Dame National Catholic Championships in South Bend, IN Sept. 19.
