Men’s and Women’s Golf have wildly different tournaments Sept. 15-16.
The Men’s and Women’s golf teams participated in different tournaments Sept. 15-16. The women attended the Velvet Classic hosted by Murray State University in Paducah, Ky., finishing in fourth, while the men stayed local and attended the Highlands Invitational hosted by Wake Forest University in Westchester, Ill., placing 11th.
Women’s Golf
The women’s team finished the tournament in fourth place out of 16 teams with a total of 914 (316-292-306).
Troy University took the top team spot with a total of 895 (306-294-295). Individually, the University of North Carolina Asheville’s fourth-year Pennie Osterberg finished in first with a total of 221 (73-73-75).
For the Ramblers, second-year Grace Hui claimed a top-10 spot, tying for ninth with a score of 225 (79-70-76). Highlights of her performance included six birdies in her second round, giving her a total of two-under par with 70.
First-year Teagan Connors finished three strokes behind Hui with a total of 228 (77-71-80). Connors landed the 18th place spot with a career-best score.
First-year Reese Kite took a tie for 26th with a score of 231 (82-73-76). This marks Kite’s second performance for the Ramblers in her inaugural season, ending with a career-best total.
Hui, Connors and Kite all tied for the third-highest birdies scored in the tournament with nine apiece.
Second-year Madison Haugen finished with a total of 235 (78-78-79) and in a tie for 35th. Her last round consisted of seven bogeys and a double-bogey, which were offset by two birdies scored in the round.
Finally, third-year Cassie Psuik landed in a tie for 56th with a score of 243 (85-83-75). In her first two rounds, Psuik totaled 12 bogeys and six double-bogeys, adding to her 13-over par and 11-over par rounds.
Up next, the Ramblers head to the Butler Fall Invitational Sept. 29-30 in Indianapolis, Ind., hosted by Butler University.

Men’s Golf
The men’s team finished with a total of 897 (300-299-298) in 11th place out of 13 teams.
Host team Wake Forest University took the top spot with a score of 840 (275-284-281). Demon Deacon’s first-year Jorge Hao finished in first individually, going 17-under par with a 199 (65-65-69).
The Ramblers were led by fourth-year Sebastian Kasun, who finished in 15th with an even-par total of 216 (75-71-70). With a total of 13, Kasun had the ninth-most birdies scored in the tournament.
Third-year Jackson Overton scored a 227 (74-77-76), placing in a tie for 48th. A total of six bogeys in his first round was offset by four birdies for a round score of two-over par.
Fourth-years Charlie Kulwin and Dori Lee tied for 56th. Kulwin shot a 230 (81-76-73) and Lee matched him, also totaling a 230 (73-75-82). Kulwin’s first round score was influenced by six bogeys and two double-bogeys. Lee’s final round was set with a personal high of ten bogeys.
Finally, fourth-year Ryan Walsh ended with the 72nd spot and a total of 237 (78-80-79). A highlight for Walsh was an eagle in his second round to help land his total at 8-over par.
The men head to Nashport, Ohio, for the Virtues Intercollegiate hosted by Miami University Sept. 29-30.
