Loyola women’s soccer fell to Saint Louis University 6-0 in the first round of Atlantic 10 playoffs Nov. 1. Redshirt second-year goalkeeper Allison Deardorff led the defense with four saves while Saint Louis’ second-year forward Audrey Smith and redshirt fourth-year forward and midfielder Julia Simon led the Billikens with two shots and one goal each.
The match started with a Billikens corner in the sixth minute which was headed away by first-year defender Abby Sudkamp. Three minutes later, Saint Louis’ second-year forward Hope Kim passed the ball over to second-year midfielder Ashley Miller at the left post, who buried the ball into the top right corner of the net.
Third-year forward Zoe Hevey and Simon traded fouls in the 19th minute before Simon took a shot from the right post, which was saved by Deardorff.
