Don’t let little punk Punxsutawney Phil ruin the rest of your six weeks of winter. Spring may not soon be in the air, but love is — grab a friend or lover and make the most of your tax dollars at the Edgewater Branch public library to sign Valentines cards for those in need.

In need of some competition? Two rivalries hit the flatscreens this weekend. Superbowl LX may not be heated, but the Heated Rivalry drag brunch at Macy’s Walnut Room will have you getting on your knees. For an alternative, Cody’s Public House will host a Puppy Bowl viewing party for visitors 21+.

Heated Rivalry Drag Brunch: Feb. 7

Will you come to the cottage, a.k.a. Macy’s Walnut Room? Drag queen Lucy Stoole will put on a great show just one Red Line stop past the Water Tower Campus, off of Lake. Tickets are $24 with two time slots available at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Believe in anything the brunch can provide you, and don’t disappoint Lucy.

Coffee and Cocoa Crawl at Fika Fest: Feb. 7

The temperature may not be painfully freezing anymore, but that doesn’t mean Ramblers don’t deserve to cozy up with the Andersonville community on a coffee and cocoa walking route. Check-in begins at 9 a.m. at the Swedish American museum, 5211 N. Clark St., a 15 minute walk from the Berwyn Red Line stop. The fest runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Andersonville Puzzle Exchange: Feb. 8

Still caffeinated from Fika Fest? Spend more of your weekend in Andersonville with the great annual puzzle exchange at the Swedish American Museum. Reset your mind by working on puzzles with like-minded community members before the Superbowl later in the day.

Valentine’s Card Signing: Feb. 8

Share the love by signing Valentine’s cards at the Edgewater Public Library 2-4 p.m., 6000 N. Broadway St. Cards will be distributed to those in need across many North Side Chicago neighborhoods.

Puppybowl at Cody’s Public House: Feb. 8
Ramblers 21+ can head to Cody’s Public House off of the Belmont Red Line stop for a puppy bowl viewing party for a doggone good time. Darts and bocce ball await in the beer garden, but why play games when a free dog cartoonist will be waiting to capture canines in all their glory? Proceeds support Chicago Canine Rescue.
