Loyola men’s golf attended the Gulf Coast Collegiate hosted by New Orleans University in New Orleans, Feb. 23-24. The Ramblers finished the 54-hole tournament with a score of 914 strokes (313-313-288) and were second out of 15 teams.
Finishing in first place was Augusta University with a total of 898 strokes (307-304-287). In a three-way tie for the top spot was St. John’s University third-year Joseph Dolezal (80-76-69), Augusta University third-year Chapman Barnett (77-76-72) and Augusta University second-year Pieter Rossouw Jr. (75-75-75), all with scores of 225 strokes.
For the Ramblers, fourth-year Charlie Kulwin landed in a tie for fourth place behind the first place winners with a score of 226 strokes (80-73-73). In his second round, Kulwin recorded two bogeys and a birdie for a one-over par round.
Fourth-year Sebastian Kasun finished the tournament with a score of 229 strokes (75-81-73), landing in a tie for 14th. With a double, four bogeys and five birdies, Kasun ended his third round with a one-over par score.
Tied for 14th with Kasun was fourth-year Dori Lee with a score of 229 strokes (80-79-70). In his third round, Lee grabbed two bogeys and four birdies for a two-under par total.
Fourth-year Zach Mulhearn landed in a tie for 26th with 233 strokes (78-82-73). He shot a one-over par third round with five bogeys and four birdies.
Lastly, second-year Connor Woodin finished with 240 strokes (88-80-72) and a tie for 44th place. Ending with an even-par third round, Woodin scored four bogeys and four birdies.
The Ramblers head to Southern Pines, N.C., for the Ross Collegiate hosted by George Mason University March 9-11.
