Loyola women’s golf traveled to Rio Verde, Ariz. to attend the Rio Verde Invitational hosted by Western Michigan University Feb. 20-22. The Ramblers finished the 54-hole tournament in 16th out of 19 teams with a score of 924 strokes (310-311-303).
Taking the top spot, Bradley University tallied 885 strokes (300-291-294). Individually, Xavier University’s second-year Isabel Brozena grabbed first place with a total of 215 strokes (69-72-74).
First-year Teagan Connors led the Ramblers, ending the tournament in a tie for 27th place with a score of 227 strokes (75-76-76). In her first round, Connors recorded two bogeys and a birdie, leading to a three-over par round.
Next for the Ramblers was third-year Cassie Psuik, who finished with 234 strokes (76-76-82) and in a tie for 58th. In her first round, five bogeys and a birdie awarded Psuik a four-over par total.
One stroke behind Psuik, third-year Grace Durkin scored a tie for 66th place with a total of 235 strokes (77-81-77). In her first round, Durkin earned five bogeys for a five-over par round.
Two strokes behind Durkin, second-year Grace Hui found a tie for 72nd, ending the tournament with 237 strokes (84-78-75). In her final round, Hui recorded a three-over par round with one double bogey, four bogeys and three birdies.
Lastly, second-year Madison Haugen finished with 240 strokes (82-83-75) and a tie for 82nd. In her third round, she tallied four bogeys and a birdie for a three-over par finish.
The Ramblers next head to George, Utah for the Pizza Hut Lady Thunderbird Invitational hosted by Southern Utah University March 6-8.
