Loyola Athletics announced the Keepers of the Culture Classic June 28 which will feature former Rambler legends taking on the new 2024-2025 men’s basketball roster in a scrimmage.
Loyola Athletics teased the event in a promotional video asking fans their opinion on season three of FX’s “The Bear.” A billboard in the beginning of the video featured current and former Ramblers with Loyola’s NIL brand “Keepers of the Culture” with “Coming Soon” above the date Aug. 4.
Returning to Gentile Arena are 2018 Final Four team members, Cameron Krutwig, Donte Ingram, Lucas Williamson and Ben Richardson. Joining them are recent graduates Braden Norris and Tom Welch, Ryan Schwieger, Milton Doyle, Chris Knight and Tate Hall.
The scrimmage will give Rambler fans a chance to see both members of last year’s team who were Atlantic 10 regular season co-champions and the new talent head coach Drew Valentine has added to the roster, including four first-years and four transfer students.
Also making an appearance at the event is Valentine’s brother, Denzel, who recently won a championship with Olimpia Milano in the Italian LegaBasket Serie A and was named AP’s National Player of the Year in 2016 when he played with Michigan State University.
The scrimmage is scheduled for Aug. 4 at 3 p.m. with ticket information to be released soon. All of the proceeds will benefit the Keepers of the Culture NIL collective.
