The three brothers shared their “Greetings From Your Hometown” with fans at the Allstate Arena in December.
On Dec. 11, for one night only, the Rosemont, Ill Allstate Arena hosted pop-rock sensation the Jonas Brothers for a nostalgic night of musical magic.
The trio’s latest studio album, “Greetings From Your Hometown,” released Aug. 8 and served as the inspiration for the “Greetings From Your Hometown Tour.” With a setlist filled with songs from their early 2000s music career to the modern pop hits of recent years, the brothers ensured a night of fun for fans of all ages.
The concert opened with the initial drumkit beats and guitar chords of “Love Me To Heaven,” the third track off their latest project, sending fans jumping in anticipation for the brothers to appear.
“You can’t put a price on human touch / I could be down, but you love me to heaven,” Nick, Joe and Kevin Jonas sang from the stage’s catwalk.
The group continued on, singing fan favorites like “Only Human,” “Mirror to the Sky” and “S.O.S” while the crowd pranced and cheered in a roar of admiration and endearment. The vocals of the brothers blended beautifully with the harmonious strums of their guitars, filling the arena with a powerful sound of pop-rock bliss.
The group followed the trifecta of tracks with “Sucker.” Fans danced their hearts out to the catchy chorus and bubblegum-pop sounds of the 2019 single, which served as the band’s comeback hit following a six year hiatus.
“I’ve been dancing on top of cars and stumbling out of bars / I follow you through the dark, can’t get enough,” Joe Jonas sang.
In reference to the group’s recent Disney+ holiday special, “A Very Jonas Christmas Movie,” the trio sang original songs “Coming Home This Christmas” and “Like It’s Christmas” to spread some additional holiday cheer among their guests. The surprise was seemingly appreciated by the crowd, as families of all ages clapped along to the joyous melodies.
To engage with their audience, each Jonas brother picked a lucky fan to share a song request for the acoustic set, providing an intimate moment of connection away from the grand spectacle of the show.
The trio strummed and echoed the tunes of “Waste No Time,” “BB Good” and “Remember This,” giving fans 15 minutes of raw vocals and pure acoustic harmony.
The mood suddenly switched back to the upbeat with jubilant, high-energy tracks like “Who I Am,” “Vacation Eyes” and “Waffle House.”
“No don’t get stressed it’s gon’ get figured out / Oh, deep conversations at the Waffle House,” the brothers sang from center stage.
The brothers pushed on to sing “Vacation Eyes” and “Celebrate,” filling the venue with pop-tastic keyboard melodies and vibrant vocal harmonies. Select audience members had a chance to be featured on a “dance-cam” during the Jonas performance of “No Time To Talk.”
An awe-striking, dance-pop remix of “Cake By The Ocean” — released in 2015 by Joe Jonas’ band DNCE — closed the act.
Contrary to the high-energy numbers of act one, Nick Jonas gifted fans with stripped-back performances of his solo songs “Jealous” and “Gut Punch.” Fans of the songs held up witty, home-made signs sharing their admiration for the singer, with the glam of each glitter glue letter shimmering as fans swayed to the intimate lyrics.
Act two opened with a powerhouse performance of “What A Man Gotta Do,” followed by renditions of fan-favorite tracks like “Fly With Me” and “Backwards.”
Fans of Kevin Jonas were rewarded with his emotional performance of “Changing,” which was the performer’s only solo performance of the night.
“Maybe I’m jaded / Or maybe I’m chasing / The highs to escape / So I keep changin’,” the eldest brother sang from center stage.
The brothers burst into sound with the grand, lively vocals of “Love Bug,” “Leave Before You Love Me” — a 2021 collaboration with EDM hitmaker Marshmello — and a cover of “Year 3000” by British group “Busted.”
The act closed with a fiery performance of “Burnin’ Up,” complete with extravagant fireworks, glistening holiday lights and excessive snowy-silver confetti. Families and friends adoringly hugged each other, being sure to relish in the final vocals of the night, serving as a sentimental ending to the evening’s festivities.
As a final surprise, the Jonas Brothers brought out their youngest sibling, Frankie Jonas, to share in encore performances of “Please Be Mine” and “When You Look Me In The Eyes.”
The show lights dimmed, focusing solely on the brothers, before the siblings walked offstage arm-in-arm.
