Rampant waste among corporate retail companies has become a common business practice. How does a corporate push for speed over quality effect this? What is “damaging out” and how has it expedited the waste of unsold products? How harmful is production when centered around need for profit compared the lifespan of the products themselves?

On this week’s episode of The Byline, a joint project between The Phoenix and WLUW 88.7, host and engagement editor Dana Prodoehl is joined by The Phoenix’s deputy opinion editor Carlos Soto-Angulo to discuss these questions and more.
